Are you tired of doing the same thing every day? Do you want something different, local and fun? Well, the Walking Ladies (SUSIE GLOWACKI, CATHY HEBERT, CYNTHIA LORMAND, ALICE MORROW) have the perfect event for you! WHAT: Wine Up at the Le Vieux Village 828 E. Landry Street, Opelousas WHEN: Thursday, June 8, 2017 TIME: 6 pm - 8pm COST: $40.00 per person Le Vieux Village is a historic rural museum where you can enjoy a wine tasting with food, entertainment, door prizes, a wine pull and lovely atmosphere. The wine is being provided by Champagne’s in Lafayette. Champagne’s is known for their extensive brands of red and white wines and champagnes. Cindy McCory has a vast knowledge of their wines and knows how to pair taste and cost to any food or event. I think you will be surprised by what she plans to serve for our wine tasting. Three local restaurants will be serving their delicious food. Troy Bijeaux of Café Josephine’s in Sunset and Jason Huguet of Steamboat Warehouse in Washington are planning to serve some of their award winning dishes. A soon-to-be award winning chef, Darla Breaux of D Dee’s in Grand Coteau will be serving the desserts. You don’t want to miss out. The wine pull will give guests the opportunity to bid on some very selective wines. Two large gift baskets to be given away include two very nice wines from Napa Valley, two wine glasses, dining gift certificates from Ruth Chris Steak House, Little Big Cup in Arnaudville, Café Josephine and an apron and coffee mugs from Geaux Ask Alice. Each basket is worth $300.00 or more! Entertainment will be provided by Jack Woodson, a well know musician. The Walking Ladies have been working hard to provide a new and different experience for Opelousas. All monies raised are for the Nativity and Lighting of the oak trees on the courthouse square. This November event will include more activities for the community to experience and enjoy. You can purchase tickets at Sebastien’s Jewelry, 822 S. Main St, Opelousas, any of the WALKING LADIES or on-line at wineuplevieuxvillage.eventbrite.com. We look forward to seeing you there.
