Decadent Greek Crab Dip
DECADENT GREEK CRAB DIP
Olive oil
1 small red onion, finely diced
1 red Fresno chile or red jalapeno, seeded and chopped
1 T. minced garlic
Kosher salt, black pepper
1 (8-oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
2 T. chopped fresh parsley
Lemon zest and juice from 1 lemon
1 T. chopped fresh dill
1 t. chopped fresh oregano
1 T. red wine vinegar
1 lb. fresh lump crabmeat, drained and picked
1 c. crumbled feta cheese
¼ c. panko bread crumbs
1 T. melted butter
½ t. Paprika
Assorted crackers or baguette slices
- Preheat oven 350. In a medium skillet, drizzle olive oil to cover bottom and place over medium heat.
- Add onion, chile, garlic, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring constantly until onions are clear.
- Reduce heat to low, stir in cream cheese, stirring constantly until melted.
- Remove from heat and stir in parsley, zest, lemon juice, dill, oregano and vinegar until combined.
- Gently stir in feta and crabmeat. Taste for seasoning.
- Pour mixture into lightly greased1 ½ quart baking dish.
- Combine bread crumbs, butter and paprika in a small bowl and sprinkle topping evenly over crab mixture.
- Bake until golden and bubbly, about 20 minutes.
- Let stand 5 minutes and serve with assorted crackers or baguette slices.
