Delicious BBQ Root Beer Ribs

DELICIOUS BBQ ROOT BEER RIBS
ROOT BEER BBQ SAUCE:
¾ c. root beer
¾ c. catsup
2 T. packed light brown sugar
2 T. honey
2 T. apple cider vinegar
2 T. Dijon
1 T. Worcestershire
1 t. onion powder
1 t. smoked paprika
1 t. kosher salt
1 t. black pepper
RIBS:
2 racks pork loin back ribs (about 3 lbs. each)
2 T. Sea salt
1 T. garlic powder
1 T. dry mustard
1 T. smoked paprika
1 T. chili powder
2 t. onion powder
2 t. black pepper

  1. Preheat oven 300.
  2. In small bowl, combine all the seasoning ingredients for the ribs. With sharp knife, pierce thin membrane on back of ribs, peel off and discard. Rub spice mixture all over both sides of ribs. Wrap in foil and place on baking sheet.
  3. Bake 2 ½ hours.
  4. Spray grill racks with nonflammable cooking spray. Preheat grill to HIGH HEAT (400-450).
  5. Remove ribs from foil. Pour 3 T. of rib juices into a small bowl and stir in 3 T. of ROOT BEER BBQ SAUCE.
  6. Grill ribs, meat side down, over direct heat, basting with BBQ SAUCE, until charred and crispy, about 10 minutes, turning once halfway through grilling. Serve with remaining BBQ SAUCE.
  7. BBQ SAUCE: In medium saucepan, whisk together all ingredients. Bring to boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stir occasionally, until thickened, about 30-45 minutes. Store in airtight container, up to 3 weeks.
