Tasty Oven Yam Fries

TASTY OVEN YAM FRIES
3 large yams
Salt/black pepper/ground cumin
Olive oil
- Wash yams, leave skin on or remove, cut into desired fry size.
- Let soak in cold water for at least 1 hour.
- Drain and dry well.
- Preheat oven 375.
- Toss the fries with oil and seasonings. Make sure they are all coated.
- Spread evenly in single layer on parchment-lined pan.
- Bake 20 minutes.
- Kick up oven temp to 425 and bake another 20-25 minutes until tender and golden.
- Remove and drain on paper towel before serving. You can also sprinkle with a little more salt if desired.
*You can do this with regular baking potatoes. Regular potatoes will be a little crispier due to the fact they have more starch. Yams have more of a sugar content which prevents it from being super crispy. Still delicious.
