Slushy Mojitos

1 c. sugar
1 c. water
½ c. fresh lime juice
¼ c. fresh mint leaves, firmly packed
Zest of 2 limes
½ c. light rum
8 c. crushed ice
Mint sprigs and lime wedges, garnish

1. In a saucepan over medium heat, add sugar to water.
2. Cook for 5 minutes, stir often, until sugar is dissolved and syrup is clear.
3. Set aside to cool.
4. Put the sugar syrup, lime juice, mint leaves, zest and rum in a blender and blend until smooth.
5. Add ice and blend until slushy.
6. Spoon into glasses and garnish.
