Ingredients
  • 1 lb. of fresh thick spears of asparagus
  • 1 T. soy sauce
  • 1 t. dark sesame oil
  • 1 T. minced garlic
  • 1 T. sesame seeds, toasted
  • Black pepper, salt
Instructions
  1. Prepare gill to high heat.
  2. Snap off tough ends of asparagus.
  3. Arrange 4 asparagus spears on a flat surface. Thread two (3”) skewers horizontally through spears 1” from each end to form a raft. Repeat with remaining asparagus.
  4. Combine soy sauce, oil and garlic.
  5. Brush evenly over rafts.
  6. Grill 3 minutes per side or until crisp-tender.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add sesame seeds.
Notes
*****If you are using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 15 minutes before using. This keeps them from burning on the grill.
A nice dipping sauce or squeeze of fresh lemon goes well with these rafts.
