Best Ever Chocolate Mousse
Ingredients
- 8 oz. sweetened chocolate
- 1 oz. unsweetened chocolate
- 4 eggs, separated
- 4 T. sugar
- 4 T. milk
- 2 c. heavy cream
- 1 t. vanilla
- 3 oz. pkg. Ladyfingers (24 unfilled)
- Fresh strawberries or raspberries for garnish
Instructions
- Melt chocolate in double boiler.
- Beat egg yolks.
- Add sugar and blend well with eggs.
- Add milk to chocolate mixture.
- Gradually add egg mixture into the chocolate mixture. Blend well.
- In clean bowl, beat egg whites with clean beaters until stiff and shiny.
- Beat heavy cream and vanilla until stiff.
- Fold egg whites into chocolate mixture. Then fold this into whipped cream.
- Prepare springform pan (8”) with ladyfingers around edge.
- Pour mixture into mold and chill for at least 3 hours.
- Unmold and cut into wedges and garnish with berries
- You can skip steps 8 and 9 and put mixture into individual mousse dishes.
