Bananas Foster for Breakfast

BANANAS FOSTER FOR BREAKFAST
½ c. butter, cubed
2/3 c. packed brown sugar
½ c. heavy whipping cream
½ t. ground cinnamon
½ t. ground allspice
¼ c. chopped pecans
3 large bananas, sliced
12 slices egg bread or challah
1 ½ c. milk
3 large eggs
1 T. sugar
1 t. vanilla

  1. Place butter in microwave-safe bowl. Microwave, covered, 30-45 seconds or until melted.
  2. Stir in brown sugar, cream, cinnamon, allspice and pecans.
  3. Add bananas. Toss gently to coat.
  4. Transfer to greased 13×9” baking dish.
  5. Arrange bread over top, trimming to fit as necessary.
  6. Place remaining ingredients in blender and process just until blended.
  7. Pour over bread.
  8. Refrigerate covered overnight.
  9. Preheat oven 375.
  10. Remove dish from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking.
  11. Bake, uncovered, 30-45 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.
  12. Let stand 5-10 minutes.
  13. Invert to serve.
