THANKFULNESS AND FATHER’S DAY!

Good Morning Foodies!

First things, I would like to make a few comments about THE WALKING LADIES-WINE-UP EVENT! This was our third time having this event. It was close to 400-500 attendees! WOW, is all I can say, considering the “MONSOON RAINS” that came the day before and into early morning hours. God gave us a perfect day, after all. The evening was a little warm, with a nice breeze and the grounds were dry. We didn’t need to wear our boots! Everyone used the hand-held fans, to make the evening go on without a hitch! At least we didn’t have to deal with those PESKY LOVE BUGS. Did you notice that the LOVE BUGS did not appear this past MAY/JUNE! Guess they didn’t like the heat! Just glad they did not make their annual appearance! There are so many people, businesses and organizations that were so generous in helping us pull this off. You will never know how big our hearts felt with the most overwhelming help we received. People were so kind, generous, and soooo helpful! The wonderful comments made on the GEAUXASKALICE site, phone calls, texts, conversations on the street-were all so encouraging. We can never thank you people enough for helping us pull this event off. Just remember, this is an ongoing project to maintain and upgrade the LIGHTING OF THE OAKS ON THE COURTHOUSE SQUARE AND NATAIVITY. We are working diligently toward the TRICENTENNIAL IN 2020! We hope everyone will still come forward and help us keep up this most rewarding work that everyone benefits from.

Now I would like to pay homage, to all those men, who stand up and take on the “FATHER” roles. I always like to think that, “A FATHER IS A DAUGHTER’S FIRST LOVE AND A SON’S FIRST HERO!” My most favorite saying is, “A FATHER IS SOMEONE YOU LOOK UP TO NO MATTER HOW TALL YOU GROW!” Just like I said on Mothers’ Day, you do not have to actually be a biological parent, to step in to take on the role of FATHER OR MOTHER! So, if you are someone who is not a biological father, you can step into many arenas and take on that role. There are many, many children out there without parents. They would give anything to look up to someone, with dreams in their heads, that there is someone who loves them, for who they are, no matter what! My HUBBY is a very deserving of his rewards as a great FATHER AND GRANDFATHER—my son, and son-in-laws, also get great marks for their young achievements in the role of FATHERS! One saying that all you MARRIED MEN should pay attention to: “My WIFE says I have TWO FAULTS. I DON’T LISTEN…and SOMETHING ELSE!” Love it!
Today is a very special day to me—TODAY WOULD HAVE BEEN MY DAD’S BIRTHDAY! He would have been “102”! He would have loved that! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DADDY AND A MOST WONDERFUL FATHER’S DAY! I KNOW TO THE WORLD YOU ARE JUST ONE PERSON BUT TO ME YOU ARE THE WORLD!
So, to all you men out there, who reach out, set great examples in how to be a loving but firm, honest and fair, and most of all, HAVING A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR— have a most wonderful, FATHERS’ DAY!!!!!!!!!!!
