Smooth Salted Caramel Milkshake

MILKSHAKE:
1 pt. vanilla ice cream
½ c. milk
¼ c. salted caramel sauce
SALTED CARAMEL SAUCE:
1 c. sugar
¼ c. water
¾ c. heavy cream
3 ½ T. butter
1 t. kosher salt
1. Combine ice cream, milk and caramel sauce in blender and blend until smooth.
2. SALTED CARAMEL SAUCE: In heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium-low heat until sugar dissolves.
3. Increase heat and bring to boil, without stirring.
4. If necessary, use a wet pastry brush to wash down any crystals on the side of pan.
5. Boil until syrup is deep amber color, about 6 minutes.
6. Remove sugar from heat and carefully whisk in heavy cream.
7. The mixture will bubble.
8. Stir in butter and salt. Transfer to dish and cool
