Savory Baked Breaded Pork Chops
Ingredients
- 4-6 (1-2” thick-cut) bone-in pork chops, seasoned
- 3 eggs, beaten plus 2 T. water
- 1 c. Italian bread crumbs
- 1 c. Panko bread crumbs
- ½ c. finely chopped parsley
- 3 T. minced garlic
- ¼-1/2 c. fresh grated parmesan cheese, optional
- Salt, red/black pepper, garlic powder
- 2 T. dried oregano
- 2 T. dried basil
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven 375.
- In a bowl, beat eggs and whisk in water. Set aside.
- In another bowl, combine the bread crumbs, parsley, garlic, cheese, oregano, basil and season to taste with salt, red/black pepper and garlic powder.
- Season the pork chops.
- Dip the chops into the egg wash, then dredge in the bread crumb mixture.
- Place chops on a wire rack placed on a baking sheet. You can spray the rack with PAM.
- Drizzle with olive oil over the chops. Flip them and drizzle more olive oil.
- Place in oven and bake. Turn once when the first side begins to brown.
- I like to cook my chops to a light pink in the center. This cooking process is usually about 12-15 minutes per side, depending on thickness of chops. Typically, internal temperature is 145 for pork. I usually cook to 140 and let rest for 5 minutes once out of the oven.
Notes
*****Use an instant meat thermometer to determine the internal temperature that you might want.
