RUN FORREST RUN!!!!
Good Morning Foodies! Today, I am stepping away from my FOOD BLOGGING and sprouting my PROUD GRANDPARENT FEATHERS. I need to brag a bit on my GRAND PEEP, AVA GRACE MOREAU. She is the most amazing track star along with other fantastic characteristics.
This past spring she was selected MVP from the Catholic Schools in Baton Rouge area representing grades 5-8th. She was a fifth grade student and beat out all the competition of all age groups.
Ava Grace likes to run cross-country and those crazy hurdles.
A little background on Ava Grace’s genetic inheritance. Her GREAT-GRANDFATHER, ALVIN MOREAU, the 1933 LSU TRACK TEAM CAPTAIN was the first Southern team to win the NATIONAL COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIP. He was truly an amazing man. If you are interested in more information, google him. You will be in awe of him. Then, I have to mention HUBBY-“POPPA”, was a track star in his day at ARNAUDVILLE HIGH SCHOOL. He told me there were two types of shoes back then—KEDS AND TRACK SHOES. He says just think how awesome I would have been if I would have had NIKE SHOES! So there you go!
So back to the star, AVA GRACE, yesterday in her last BIG-METRO CROSS-COUNTRY MEET, she had per personal best time for 2 miles of 12:40.6. She placed second overall out of 229 girls, grades 5-8th. Her mom told me that a seventh grader beat her with the time of 12:39.6. People do the math—that is a 6:20 pace. She has done it in 5:40. This gal is only 11 years old.
All of her family is so proud of her. I AM JUST SAYING, MOVE OVER LOLO JONES, THERE IS A NEW GIRL IN TOWN!
Remember her name, AVA GRACE MOREAU, A STAR IN THE MAKING, IN SO MANY WAYS!
GRAMMIE AND POPPA ARE SO PROUD OF YOU! Of course, POPPA likes it that you run faster so the boys can’t catch up to you!
All you foodies out there have a great and productive weekend!
