Over-the-Top Philly Cheese Steak Hand Pies

OVER-THE-TOP PHILLY CHEESE STEAK HAND PIES
Olive oil
½ lb. ground chuck
½ c. chopped yellow onion
½ c. chopped green bell pepper
2 t. steak seasoning
1 T. flour
1 c. shredded provolone cheese
1 (14.1-oz.) pkg. refrigerated piecrusts, room temp
1 egg
1 t. water
black pepper
Chopped fresh parsley, garnish

  1. Preheat oven 425. Line large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In large saucepan, drizzle bottom with olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add beef, onion, bell pepper and steak seasoning. Cook, stir occasionally, until beef is browned and crumbly.
  4. Stir in flour, cook, stir constantly, for 1 minute.
  5. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese.
  6. Unroll piecrusts on lightly floured surface.
  7. Place half of beef mixture in center of each crust.
  8. Fold dough over filling, pressing out excess air.
  9. Crimp edges to seal.
  10. Place pies 2” apart on prepared baking pan.
  11. In bowl, whisk egg, water and brush on top of pies. Sprinkle black pepper onto pies. Cut small vent in top of each.
  12. Bake until golden brown, 15-18 minutes. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley.
