Over-the-Top Philly Cheese Steak Hand Pies

OVER-THE-TOP PHILLY CHEESE STEAK HAND PIES
Olive oil
½ lb. ground chuck
½ c. chopped yellow onion
½ c. chopped green bell pepper
2 t. steak seasoning
1 T. flour
1 c. shredded provolone cheese
1 (14.1-oz.) pkg. refrigerated piecrusts, room temp
1 egg
1 t. water
black pepper
Chopped fresh parsley, garnish
- Preheat oven 425. Line large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In large saucepan, drizzle bottom with olive oil over medium heat.
- Add beef, onion, bell pepper and steak seasoning. Cook, stir occasionally, until beef is browned and crumbly.
- Stir in flour, cook, stir constantly, for 1 minute.
- Remove from heat. Stir in cheese.
- Unroll piecrusts on lightly floured surface.
- Place half of beef mixture in center of each crust.
- Fold dough over filling, pressing out excess air.
- Crimp edges to seal.
- Place pies 2” apart on prepared baking pan.
- In bowl, whisk egg, water and brush on top of pies. Sprinkle black pepper onto pies. Cut small vent in top of each.
- Bake until golden brown, 15-18 minutes. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley.
