Heirloom Tomato Salad with Basil and Mozzarella and Alice’s Stuffed Potatoes

Good Morning Foodies! What a wonderful weekend, even though, I lost an hour in there somewhere! Everything, is trying its best, to bloom! GOD DID GOOD! Last Thursday, when I posted the story of the traveling birthday cakes, I was totally blown away, by the shared stories from some FOODIES! Some made me laugh, some made me cry, but they all made me realize, how something as simple, as a BIRTHDAY CAKE, can have an impact on individuals. The stories ranged from cakes made while in Viet Nam; a grandmother, who gave a cake and $1.00, after you learned one FRENCH WORD that day; to the mother, who gave the birthday cake away, because it was so bad, and did not want to hurt the child’s feelings. For years, like most mothers, we usually don’t get homemade cakes or any cakes, but we are not destroyed over that. I always feel like, that is what I am here, to do. In the past few years, my youngest PEEP, always tries to make a birthday cake for me. I really don’t care what it looks like or how it taste—IT IS THE BEST CAKE EVER!!!!!! So, when you have a family or friend with a birthday coming up—BE SILENT AND LISTEN—to your heart and realize how you can make that person’s day, just a little better. By the way, did you notice that, SILENT AND LISTEN, have the same letters! Pretty cool! Those that gather around the cake, realize: HAVING SOMEPLACE TO GO IS HOME; HAVING SOMEONE TO LOVE IS FAMILY; BUT HAVING BOTH IS A BLESSING! This menus this week will still follow the LENTEN THEME! Have a most wonderful day! Truly, stop and smell the flowers, all around you!
