Minty Chocolate Sorbet
Ingredients
- 4 ½ c. water
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ t. salt
- ½ t. mint extract
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- In large saucepan, whisk the water with the sugar, cocoa powder and salt until smooth.
- Cook over medium-low heat, whisking frequently until sugar is dissolved.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in extract.
- Pour mixture into a shallow container and refrigerate for 4-6 hours or until very cold.
- Pour mixture into electric ice cream maker and freeze accordingly to the directions of the machine.
- If you prefer the mixture to be firmer, transfer to an airtight container (after removing from ice cream machine). Freeze until firm.
- Garnish with mint.
