Grilled Salmon on Cedar Planks
Ingredients
  • 1 cedar plank (6x14”)
  • 2(10-12 oz., each) fresh salmon fillets
  • Sea salt and fresh black pepper
  • ½ c. Dijon mustard
  • ½ c. light brown sugar
  • Lemon slices, garnish
Instructions
  1. Soak the planks in salted water for 2 hours. Drain.
  2. Remove skin from salmon. Remove any bones. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Season all sides with salt and pepper.
  4. Lay what was the skin side of salmon on the cedar plank.
  5. Spread the mustard over the top and sides.
  6. In a bowl, crumble the sugar and sprinkle over the mustard.
  7. Set grill for indirect heating and heat to medium-high. Place plank in center of hot grate, away from heat.
  8. Cover grill and cook for 20-30 minutes, depending on size of fillets. Internal temp should be 135.
  9. Transfer the plank with salmon and serve right off the plank.
  10. Serve with lemon slices.
