Ingredients
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 T. baking powder
  • 1 t. salt
  • ½ t. ground fresh nutmeg
  • 1 c. sugar
  • ⅔ c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. whole milk
  • COATING:
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 ½ c. sugar
  • 1 T. ground cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven 350.
  2. Lightly grease 12 muffin cups.
  3. In large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Set aside.
  4. In separate large bowl, cream together sugar and shortening.
  5. Add eggs and mix well.
  6. Alternating ⅓ flour mixture and ⅓ of milk to the creamed mixture.
  7. Beating well after each addition.
  8. Fill the muffin cups ⅔ full. Bake until golden, about 20-25 minutes.
  9. Remove muffins from the pan and set aside.
  10. Make the coating: Melt butter in a bowl. In another dish, combine sugar and cinnamon.
  11. Dip the warm muffins in the butter, coating all around.
  12. Then roll the muffin in the sugar/cinnamon mixture. Really coat well.
  13. Serve!!!!!!!!!!!!!
