Ingredients
  • 1 (3-4 lb.) corned beef brisket
  • ½ c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • ¼ c. Dijon mustard
  • 3 T. pickling spice, divided
  • 2 quarts hot water
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven 325.
  2. Line a large roasting pan with foil.
  3. Rinse brisket with cold water and pat dry.
  4. Place brisket, fat side up, in roasting pan.
  5. In a bowl, stir together brown sugar and mustard until smooth.
  6. Spread all over the brisket.
  7. Take 1 T. of pickling spice and sprinkle over brisket.
  8. Pour the hot water and remaining 2 T. pickling spice around brisket.
  9. Bake until beef is very tender when pierced with a fork, usually 2 ½ to 3 hours.
  10. Let stand 15 minutes, slice across grain to serve.
Notes
****Make sure you buy CORNED BEEF BRISKET and not just plain brisket for this recipe.
