Good Morning Foodies!

If you live in this neck of the woods, and do not know what I am talking about, then you must live under a rock. Two great FESTIVALS are approaching. The infamous NEW ORLEANS JAZZ FEST (Thursday, April 25-Sunday, May 5th) begins today and runs again next weekend! In Lafayette, The FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE LOUISIANE (Wednesday, April 24-Sunday, April 28th) starts runs through Sunday!

Trust me, there is not a better way to experience the music, food, art, people and culture of NEW ORLEANS and LAFAYETTE. Everyone should try one or both of these festivals in their lifetime. If you are looking for a smaller scale adventure, do LAFAYETTE!

The FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE LOUISIANE is the largest free FRANCOPHONE festival in the country. The event celebrates the connections between Acadiana and the FRANCOPHONE world. Hundreds of performing and visual artists from all over the world converge on several stages across downtown LAFAYETTE.

Music, dancing, cuisine, theater, cooking demonstrations, storytelling, visual arts, crafts and street animation are all part of the experience.
Most people have heard of or experienced NEW ORLEANS JAZZ FEST so if you want something different and more low-key—GIVE THE FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE LOUISIANE a try!

FESTIVALS in LOUISIANA express the LOVE of LIFE. It is the HARMONY of our FOOD, our MUSIC, our CREATIVITY, our ECCENTRICITY, our NEIGHBORHOODS and our JOY of LIVING—–“ALL AT ONCE”!

Today I am taking time to give high praise to all the SECRETARIES out there. I know that everyone may celebrate those wonderful SECRETARIES on different days in this month, take time to find out when your secretaries are being celebrated.

I happen to know a lot of SECRETARIES because of HUBBY’S LAW OFFICE! In the plus 50 years of the Law Firm, I have known many of these wonderful people. Many have come and gone, but each has left a trail of memories. Hubby has had some wonderful SECRETARIES and is still blessed today to have these essential people in his life.

All you people that have SECRETARIES, stop and take note of what they do to keep things sailing smoothly. They are the essence of consistency in the everyday activities.

I don’t officially have a SECRETARY but I have MEL, my personal assistant. Trust me, GEAUXASKALICE turns on a dime because of her patience and expertise in fooling with today’s modern technology. Take time today and celebrate ‘SECRETARY DAY”! They are so deserving of all that you can do to appreciate their unconditional services to you!

Take them out to lunch, send flowers, buy a gift, cook for them, praise them and most importantly let them know how thankful you are for their hard work and support! We must find TIME to STOP and THANK the PEOPLE who make a DIFFERENCE in our LIVES!
