Amazing Crawfish King Cake

AMAZING CRAWFISH KING CAKE
12 oz. cream cheese, softened and divided
½ c. minced shallots
½ c. goat cheese, softened
2 t. minced chives
1 T. Tabasco
1 (12-oz.) pkg. Louisiana crawfish tails, drained, seasoned with salt and pepper
2 (8-oz.) can refrigerated crescent dough sheets
¼ c. pepper jelly
2 T. powdered sugar
Garnish: Cajun Caviar, sliced green onion, boiled crawfish

  1. Preheat oven 350.
  2. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In bowl, combine 4 oz. cream cheese, shallots, goat cheese, chives and Tabasco.
  4. Gently fold in crawfish.
  5. On lightly floured surface, unroll crescent dough sheets.
  6. Divide cream cheese mixture between sheets. Spread in even layer.
  7. Starting with one long side, roll up dough, jelly roll style. Pinch seams to seal.
  8. Shape into rings, and pinch ends to seal.
  9. Transfer to prepared pan.
  10. Loosely cover with plastic wrap and let stand 10 minutes.
  11. Remove wrap. Bake until golden brown, 30-40 minutes. Let cool slightly.
  12. In bowl, beat pepper jelly, powdered sugar and remaining cream cheese with mixer until smooth.
  13. Spread on cakes. Garnish.
