Delicious Toffee Squares
DELICIOUS TOFFEE SQUARES
16 T. butter, softened
1 c. packed light brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 t. vanilla
2 c. flour
¼ t. salt
4 (1.55-oz.) milk chocolate bars like Hershey’s, broken into squares
½ c. chopped toasted almonds
¼ c. Heath English Toffee bites
- Preheat oven 350.
- Line 9×13” baking pan with parchment paper
- Cream butter, brown sugar, egg yolk and vanilla in bowl.
- Stir in flour and salt until combined.
- Transfer to pan.
- Bake crust until golden brown, 20 minutes. Crust will be soft.
- Immediately place chocolate squares on top of crust.
- Let stand until chocolate softens, then spread over the surface.
- Sprinkle almonds and toffee bits over top of chocolate, cut into squares while warm.
- Store squares in airtight container at room temp. Do not refrigerate.
