Delicious Toffee Squares

DELICIOUS TOFFEE SQUARES
16 T. butter, softened
1 c. packed light brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 t. vanilla
2 c. flour
¼ t. salt
4 (1.55-oz.) milk chocolate bars like Hershey’s, broken into squares
½ c. chopped toasted almonds
¼ c. Heath English Toffee bites

  1. Preheat oven 350.
  2. Line 9×13” baking pan with parchment paper
  3. Cream butter, brown sugar, egg yolk and vanilla in bowl.
  4. Stir in flour and salt until combined.
  5. Transfer to pan.
  6. Bake crust until golden brown, 20 minutes. Crust will be soft.
  7. Immediately place chocolate squares on top of crust.
  8. Let stand until chocolate softens, then spread over the surface.
  9. Sprinkle almonds and toffee bits over top of chocolate, cut into squares while warm.
  10. Store squares in airtight container at room temp. Do not refrigerate.
