Ingredients
  • FRENCH TOAST
  • PAM
  • 1 (8-oz.) whole wheat baguette, cut into 24 (1/4” slices)
  • 1 (12-oz.) can evaporated milk
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • ¼ t. almond extract
  • ¼ t. ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • TOPPING
  • ⅓ c. chopped pecans
  • ¼ c. plus 2 T. syrup
  • ⅛ t. ground cinnamon
Instructions
  1. FRENCH TOAST: Spray a 13x9” baking dish with PAM. Arrange brad slices on the diagonal in 3 rows in the dish, slightly overlapping.
  2. Whisk together the milks, vanilla and almond extract, cinnamon, salt and eggs until well combined.
  3. Pour egg mixture over bread, evenly coating the bread. Cover with foil and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
  4. Preheat oven 350. Remove foil from dish and spoon any remaining egg mixture over the top of bread to assure they are evenly moistened.
  5. TOPPING: Sprinkle pecans evenly over bread. Sprinkle with 2 T. of syrup and cinnamon.
  6. Bake until golden, about 40 minutes. Drizzle with remaining syrup. Serve.
