Easy French Toast Bake
Ingredients
- FRENCH TOAST
- PAM
- 1 (8-oz.) whole wheat baguette, cut into 24 (1/4” slices)
- 1 (12-oz.) can evaporated milk
- 1 c. milk
- 1 t. vanilla
- ¼ t. almond extract
- ¼ t. ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 4 large eggs
- TOPPING
- ⅓ c. chopped pecans
- ¼ c. plus 2 T. syrup
- ⅛ t. ground cinnamon
Instructions
- FRENCH TOAST: Spray a 13x9” baking dish with PAM. Arrange brad slices on the diagonal in 3 rows in the dish, slightly overlapping.
- Whisk together the milks, vanilla and almond extract, cinnamon, salt and eggs until well combined.
- Pour egg mixture over bread, evenly coating the bread. Cover with foil and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
- Preheat oven 350. Remove foil from dish and spoon any remaining egg mixture over the top of bread to assure they are evenly moistened.
- TOPPING: Sprinkle pecans evenly over bread. Sprinkle with 2 T. of syrup and cinnamon.
- Bake until golden, about 40 minutes. Drizzle with remaining syrup. Serve.
