GRILLED TUNA-CHEESE BURGERS | Print |

Ingredients
- 4-6 slices of whole wheat bread, crusts removed
- 2 T. milk
- 1 T. catsup
- 1 T. creole mustard
- 1 T. chopped shallot
- 1 green onion, finely chopped
- Garlic powder, salt, paprika, black pepper to taste
- 2-3 (6 oz.) cans water-packed tuna, drained and flaked
- PAM
- 6 onion rolls
- 2 T. Miracle Whip or Mayo
- 1 T. creole mustard
- 1 T. prepared horseradish
- 2 t. catsup
- 2 c. alfalfa sprouts or slaw
- 6 (1-oz.) sliced of your favorite cheese
- 6 slices of tomato
- Tartar sauce, optional
Instructions
- Tear whole wheat bread into small pieces and place in a bowl. Drizzle milk over bread.
- Add the 1 T. catsup, 1 T. creole mustard, shallot, green onion and seasoning. Mix well.
- Add tuna and combine.
- Shape into 6 patties. Spray PAM on broiler rack and place patties on top. Broil 6 inches from heat 2-5 minutes on each side or until lightly browned. Set aside.
- Split onion rolls. Combine Miracle Whip, mustard, catsup and stir well. At this point you can substitute store-bought or homemade tartar sauce. Spread your choice on cut sides of rolls.
- Place some alfalfa sprouts or slaw on bottom of roll. Top with tuna patty and your cheese choice.
- Place onion roll tops and sandwich bottoms on baking sheet. Broil 6 inches from heat for 30 seconds to 1 minute or until roll tops are lightly browned and cheese melts.
- Top each patty with tomato slice. Cover with roll top. Serve immediately.
