Morrow's Simple Steak Dinner
Ingredients
- 2-4 (2” thick cut) rib-eye steaks
- Salt, red/black pepper, garlic powder
- 2 large Vidalia onions, thick slices
- 2 of each color bell peppers (red, yellow, orange, green), cut into strips
- 4 portabella mushroom caps cut into thick slices
- 1-2 bunches fresh asparagus or green beans or combination
- White Wine Lemon Butter Sauce, recipe below
Instructions
- Make the white wine lemon butter sauce and set aside until ready to use.
- In a large bowl, combine all the cut veggies and season with salt, red/black pepper and garlic powder.
- Place the cut and seasoned veggies in a grill basket that has a closed top and bottom (so you can flip it.)
- Season steaks.
- Grill steaks to how you like them done. Baste with the basting sauce.
- Meanwhile, put veggies in the grill basket and while cooking also baste with sauce. Flip basket once or twice. Cook until crispy-tender.
- Dump cooked veggies on serving tray.
- Slice the steaks and place over the cooked veggies. Drizzle with a little more basting sauce. Place extra heated sauce on side if guests want more.
- Serve immediately with nice salad and crispy bread.

WHITE WINE LEMON BUTTER SAUCE
Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 3 chopped shallots or one small onion
- 3 T. minced garlic
- 1 c. lemon juice
- 1 bottle of Wishbone Italian dressing or any brand you like
- 1 c. of white wine or leftover white wine that is not suitable for drinking anymore
- ½ c. Lea and Perrins
- 2 T. Tobasco
Instructions
- Melt butter.
- Saute shallots or onions.
- Add garlic.
- Add rest of ingredients.
- Let simmer for 5 minutes.
- Store leftovers in refrigerator.
