Yam and Sausage Nibbles
Ingredients
- 1 lb. fresh good quality sausage, casing removed or buy bulk type
- 2 ¼ c. Bisquick mix
- 1 (8-oz.) pkg. shredded extra-sharp Cheddar cheese
- ½ c. chilled mashed roasted yams
- ⅛ t. ground cinnamon
- ¼ t. salt
- ¼ t. black pepper
- 6 T. jam, jelly or preserves-your favorite like fig, plum, etc.
- 2 T. Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Preheat oven 350.
- Lightly grease baking sheet.
- Stir together sausage, baking mix, cheese, yam, cinnamon, salt and pepper in bowl.
- Roll into 48 (1 ½”) balls, and place about 1” apart on baking sheet.
- Bake until cooked through and a deep golden brown, about 20 minutes.
- Stir together jam and mustard in bowl. Mix well.
- Serve the dipping sauce with the nibbles.
Notes
*****If you choose a jelly, etc. that is too thick, place it in microwave on HIGH for 10 second intervals until it softens up enough to mix with mustard.
