To keep your eggs fresh, always store them in their original carton (or a lidded egg tray) and place on a center shelf of the refrigerator toward the back, where the temperature will consistently remain below 40°F. The carton will prevent the eggs from picking up odors or flavors from other foods, and prevent moisture loss.
