WONDERFUL CHRISTENING AND A NICE UPCOMING VALENTINE’S DINNER-ALL ROLLED INTO ONE!

Today’s Menu:

Family Oysters Rockerfeller

Unconstructed Lettuce Wedge Salad

Sirloin Beef Steak with Sautéed Onions

Heavenly Caramel Pie

Good Morning Foodies! Well, we got GRAND PEEP GABRIELLE christened this past weekend. It was a nice little family gathering. Thanks so much to MONSIGNOR KEITH DEROUEN for making the ceremony so personal and special. GRAND PEEP, SOPHIA kept calling the MONSIGNOR “JESUS”! I told the MONSIGNOR that it is not often we have JESUS eat dinner with us. It was real cute and funny to watch her following the MONSIGNOR. We all gathered at the house after and of course, had a little to eat. It is always a little sad when you know in your heart that certain celebrations, events or happenings will not cross your path again. I know this will be the last GRAND PEEP to be christened. Maybe, I will be blessed to see GREAT-GRAND PEEPS christened. That would be a nice gift!

I would like to thank RAY BELLOW for preparing the baked chicken, rice dressing, green beans and his famous shrimp balls. The food was delicious as usual. I would also like to thank, NICOLE DARBONNE, for making the most beautiful CHRISTENING CAKE, PETIT FORS AND COOKIES! Trust me her CAKES tastes as good as they look! She is so talented. I would recommend her for any special occasion you have coming up. Nicole’s work can be seen on her FACEBOOK PAGE! Check her out.

Since this is a short week, today’s menu is a nice VALENTINE’S DINNER! Yes, you can do this!

My friend, JACQUE HARDY, gave me the most beautiful oyster shells to serve oyster recipes on. Just too pretty! The recipe FAMILY OYSTERS ROCKEFELLER worked so well on these shells. I love using them whenever I can.

Just a short note on the salad! I was on a trip once and was served the LETTUCE WEDGE SALAD WITH THE BLEU CHEESE DRESSING. We all know this recipe. It is pretty much served in all restaurants. This chef did an unconstructed version of this salad. I thought it was different and very unique. I did it and my guests said they loved it. This way you can fix as much or as little as you like. NO WASTE HERE! Give it a try!
Have a great day!
