VETERAN’S HONORED!

Good Morning Foodies!
Even though THE KITCHEN IS CLOSED TODAY, I felt it was my honor and duty to recognize all the VETERANS who have served and protected our country!
When I see the picture of the VETERANS of years past, I see in those faces a generation that always put their country first. These were the people who would ask, “WHAT CAN I DO FOR MY COUNTRY, NOT WHAT CAN MY COUNTRY DO FOR ME!”
I feel proud when I look at that picture of my mom during WWII. Because both my parents were deaf mutes, they could not join the services, but that did not keep them from helping AMERICA defeat the enemy. My mom worked as a welder fabricating military aircraft. I often think to myself, would I have done that! I don’t think that type of commitment exists today in the general population. I shamefully put myself in that category. Yes, we do things to help our surrounding communities, but not to the extent that it interferes with our daily lives.
We all need more people like them to be our role models of how to really MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
If you know a VETERAN—-BE SURE TO THANK THEM FOR THEIR SERVICE!
Have a great, safe and productive weekend!
