Ingredients
  • 1 (4-oz.) pkg. German Sweet Chocolate Squares
  • 1⅔ c. evaporated milk
  • 3 T. cornstarch
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 unbaked 9” pie shell
  • 1⅓ c. coconut
  • ¼ c. butter
  • 1 ½ c. sugar
  • ⅛ t. salt
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • ½ c. chopped pecans
Instructions
  1. Melt chocolate in a saucepan. Blend in milk.
  2. Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt, set aside.
  3. Beat eggs and vanilla and add to the sugar mixture. Mix well.
  4. Gradually blend in chocolate mixture to the sugar mixture.
  5. Pour into pie shell.
  6. Combine coconut and pecans. Sprinkle over top of pie.
  7. Bake 375 for 45 minutes until puffed and brown.
  8. Filling will be soft but will set with cooling.
  9. Cool at least 4 hours before serving.
Notes
*****Serve with whipped cream, cool whip or ice cream. This is my mother-in-law’s recipe. It is sooooo good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
