SPRING HERB GARDENS

 April 2, 2013:   Good Morning Foodies!  I firmly believe those frosty mornings are a thing of the past.  It is prime time to plant our vegetable and herb gardens.  I have found over the years it works just to put my veggie plants in big pots and my herbs in metal baskets.  I get my baskets from garden centers or golf courses/driving ranges.  The golf places are always throwing …away their ball baskets because they get rusty, etc.  They make the perfect basket for herbs.  When you plant in pots and baskets you can move them around and pull them in when weather gets wacky.  I can almost keep my herbs all year round.  Love having fresh herbs to cook and garnish.  They add such a vibrant flavor and look to your dishes.  Give the old standards a try and gradually venture out to new and exciting herbs.  Have a most fabulous day!
