Good Morning Foodies: Today is my special PEEP, CELESTE MORROW LOPEZ’S, birthday. In about 4 weeks, CELESTE, JOE AND SOPHIA, will be welcoming my GRAND PEEP NUMBER NINE! I am thinking this is a very nice birthday present. We are all excited about the entrance of the new family addition. Dad and I hope you have a most wonderful birthday!
This past week and weekend was chock a block of family birthdays. The party never stops!
I did get to go to the LSU/OLE MISS GAME. I let HUBBY drag me to at least one game. You know I can’t watch the TIGERS PLAY. Real hard to hide in TIGER STADIUM but I did survive. I went with no big expectations and talk myself off the ledge when I get so nervous! My TIGERS stepped up to the plate. I am sure with the passing of COACH LES MILES’ MOM was a very emotional thing going on in that locker room. I was happy for MILES to have a good night! TIGERS WERE WELL DESERVING, ESPECIALLY THE DEFENSE! NOW BRING ON BAMA! Not sure what was going to happen with my SAINTS, but the GRIS GRIS from Saturday Night in Death Valley, made its way to the Super Dome last night. I was so glad to see the “WHO DAT NATION” have a fabulous night. I am wondering if being in the SUPER BOWL has passed us up, if so—WE CAN STILL HAVE A PARTY! That is the proper protocol in LOUISIANA!
This is the week that approaches HALLOWEEN.
When you look at today’s menu, you will see I attempted to copy P F CHANG’S Chicken Lettuce Wraps. They were good! My lettuce leaves were poor. My PEEP, CELESTE, complained that my lettuce leaves were not quite like those at the restaurant. I told her I don’t get crates of lettuce in and get to pick the prime leaves so just pretend they are pretty. Today’s menu also works well for that TRICK OR TREATING DAY! Just put the food out and enjoy all the SPOOKY MOMENTS!
