Sirloin Beef Steak with Sautéed Onions
Ingredients
- 2 T. olive oil
- 2 large Vidalia onions, thinly sliced
- 1 (8-oz.) carton of sliced mushrooms
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 lbs. boneless beef sirloin steak, strip or rib steaks, cut into 8 pieces
- 1 jar of good picante sauce
- Salt, red/black pepper, garlic powder
- ½ c. dry red wine
Instructions
- Heat 1 T. of oil in 12” skillet.
- Add the onions and cook until tender. Remove onions from skillet and keep warm.
- Heat remaining oil (add more if needed). Add the seasoned steak pieces and brown well on all sides.
- Add the picante sauce, wine and garlic. Mix well.
- Add the onions back.
- Cook for another 3-5 minutes for medium-rare or until desired doneness.
- Garnish with chopped green onion.
