Sirloin Beef Steak with Sautéed Onions
Ingredients
  • 2 T. olive oil
  • 2 large Vidalia onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 (8-oz.) carton of sliced mushrooms
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 lbs. boneless beef sirloin steak, strip or rib steaks, cut into 8 pieces
  • 1 jar of good picante sauce
  • Salt, red/black pepper, garlic powder
  • ½ c. dry red wine
Instructions
  1. Heat 1 T. of oil in 12” skillet.
  2. Add the onions and cook until tender. Remove onions from skillet and keep warm.
  3. Heat remaining oil (add more if needed). Add the seasoned steak pieces and brown well on all sides.
  4. Add the picante sauce, wine and garlic. Mix well.
  5. Add the onions back.
  6. Cook for another 3-5 minutes for medium-rare or until desired doneness.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onion.
