Sangria
Ingredients
- 2 orange, cut into wheels
- 1 lime, cut into wheels
- 1 lemon, cut into wheels
- ½ green apple, cored and chopped into small pieces
- ½ red apple, cored and chopped into small pieces
- 6 oz. simple syrup (you can make it or buy it)
- 4 oz. freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 (750 ml.) bottle dry red wine (Spanish Wine is usually best)
- 6 oz. brandy
- 1 c. club soda, optional
- Additional fresh fruit for garnishing
Instructions
- Place the orange, lime and lemon wheels in large glass pitcher.
- Add the simple syrup.
- Muddle with a large wooden spoon.
- Add orange juice and lime juice and muddle a little more.
- Add wine and brandy and stir well.
- Place pitcher in refrigerator for at least 2 hours or up to 36 hours. Longer the better.
- Add ice cubes until pitcher is full. Mix with a few stirs. Add club soda if you like a little fizz.
- Pour into stemmed wine glasses and garnish.
Notes
*****For a white sangria, substitute a dry white wine and use 3 oz. white grape juice for the lime juice and slices of apple.
