Salty Peanut Chews
Ingredients
- 1 (1lb. 1.5 oz.) Betty Crocker peanut butter cookie mix (pouch)
- 2 T. oil
- 1 T. water
- 1 egg
- 3 c. miniature marshmallows
- ⅔ c. light corn syrup
- ¼ c. butter
- 2 t. vanilla
- 1 (10-oz.) bar peanut butter chips
- 2 c. Rice Krispie cereal
- 2 c. salted peanuts
Instructions
- Heat oven 350. Spray 13x9” baking pan with PAM.
- In large bowl, stir cookie mix, oil, water and egg until soft dough forms.
- Press dough in pan using floured fingers, to prevent sticking.
- Bake 12-15 minutes or until set.
- Immediately sprinkle marshmallows over crust.
- Bake 1-2 minutes longer or until marshmallows begin to puff.
- In 4 qt. saucepan, cook corn syrup, vanilla and chips over low heat, stirring constantly, until chips are melted.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in cereal and nuts.
- Immediately spoon cereal mixture evenly over marshmallows.
- Refrigerate 30 minutes or until firm.
- Cut into bars.
Notes
*****You can substitute different chips and nuts as well as cereal.
