RUN OR WALK TOWARD LIFE!

Good Morning Foodies! This coming Saturday, March 15th, is the SUSAN G. KOMEN-RUN FOR THE CURE, in Lafayette, LA. My niece, Catherine L. Olivier, has organized all the Morrow gals, including the sister-in-laws, nieces/granddaughters and even great-granddaughters, to be a part of this most wonderful cause. We will be running/walking in honor of the Morrows’ mother, RUTH GRACE “TEACUP” WILBERT MORROW, who lost her battle to breast cancer in 1990. I am so proud of this younger generation for constantly doing things as a family adventure. As you recall, last year, my other niece, Missy B. ANDRADE, gathered the clan for the CAJUN FOOD BUS TOUR OF LAFAYETTE AND SURROUNDING AREAS. It makes my heart feel proud to know that these young ladies still want to do things with their mothers, aunts and cousins. It is such a blessing.

This will be my second time doing one of these 5K races. Which I have found to be quite exhilarating. It really doesn’t matter how you maneuver the path, just as long as you are on some type of path to find a most interesting ending.

Our team will be called, “TEACUP’S TA-TA’S”. I know TEACUP, aka-MOM T, will be smiling down on all the MORROW CLAN. TEACUP AND DR. BOBBIE WERE BLESSED WITH “9” CHILDREN. Today, their legacy consists of 20 GRAND PEEPS AND 22 GREAT-GRAND PEEPS! THEY WOULD BE SO PROUD!

Several years ago, I read a book by Mitch Albom. He is the author of “TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE”. The book was titled “HAVE A LITTLE FAITH”! It is his journey interviewing a Rabbi, who wants Mr. Albom, to do his eulogy. Two things stood out in my mind when I read this book:

1-The author asked the Rabbi, “Do you fear death.”? He said no. He said he feared being forgotten. It is so important for each generation to carry on memories of our past. I believe this MORROW GENERATION is really striving to remember our prior generation.

2-The author then asked the Rabbi, “If you had to pack for heaven, what would you take?” He said, “This is how you pack—“YOU TOUCH EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU—BUT TAKE NOTHING!”

After thinking about those statements, I can truly say, I believe TEACUP has touched so many lives here on Earth, she will never be forgotten.

Her vibrant spirit and most gracious soul lives on forever, thanks to all those compassionate younger generations of MORROWS! We all know that when one of our dear loved ones passes on, we put them to rest, but we all know that they are buried where it counts the most—IN OUR HEARTS! THE GREATEST GIFT WE CAN GIVE TO THOSE WHO HAVE LEFT US IS TO LIVE FULLY IN THEIR PLACE!

WE ARE ALREADY WINNERS WITHOUT CROSSING THAT FINISH LINE BECAUSE TEACUP IS ALREADY AT THE FINISH LINE THAT COUNTS THE MOST, CHEERING US ON!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe I will see some of you on Saturday! Have a great, safe and productive weekend!
