Repeat Wednesday and weekly gadget – a Shun 8” Chef’s Knife.

Good Morning Foodies! Sorry for the delay—thinking my computer wanted to sleep in on this cold morning, but finally got it to raise its ugly head! Today is Repeat Wednesday and Gadget Day from E’s Kitchen in Lafayette. Today the gadget is a Shun 8” Chef’s Knife. Here is your Japanese lesson for today: Shun is pronounced “SHOON”, which mean “AT THE PEAK OF PERFECTION—JUST LIKE US GALS!” Each knife is handmade by skilled specialists and requires at least 100 handcrafted steps to complete one knife. Shun Classic knives feature a VG-10 super steel core encased with 32 layers of Damascus stainless steel (16 on each side.) The Damascus steel supports and protects the core, which provides toughness and is stain resistant. Each knife provides a Japanese blade angle of 16 degrees. You will enjoy the ease of cutting the thinnest slices without bruising or tearing the most delicate foods while prepping. This ensures the ingredients to stay intact, retain flavor and stay fresh. It is a great fit for your hand and is also available in left-handed. Now repeat after me—–I know some stuff about SHUN KNIVES!

Today’s menu is one of my all-time favorites on a nice cold, rainy day, especially when I have leftover turkey from THANKSGIVING. Make this soup—IT IS TO DIE FOR! Have a great rest of the week and be safe. Will be back in the kitchen on Tuesday, November 19th.

Today’s Menu:

Fabulous Cheese Soup
Smokey Turkey Breast and Havarti Wrap with Jezebel Sauce
