PLANNING OUT THE SUMMER!

Good Morning Foodies!

I don’t know about you but I am still finding left over food in my fridge. Some of it is so good I hate to see it come to an end, some is evil and should be put away quickly and some should just die. The reason I dislike facing “LEFTOVERS” is that my crazy little brain kicks in and looks at those leftovers and challenges me to do something with them—yes, “CREATE A NEW DISH”! Trust me, I cannot let it GEAUX! That is my life challenge every time I prepare a dish.
I really try to come up with something new. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t—but I tried.
I can always remember my GRANDFATHER telling me, “God sometimes puts things in our paths to help us find our way and sometimes it is not an easy path, but it is the right one in the long run”! After he would give me that little lecture, he would always have a little “chuckle saying” to sugar-coat the seriousness! One of his favorite sayings was, “GOD GAVE US SHINBONES SO WE COULD FIND TRAILER HITCHES IN THE DARK”! Yep, that made me laugh!
I often think of him when I get stumped with a project. Many a time we would be sitting on the porch and listen for the ICE CREAM TRUCK’S MUSICAL ENTRAPMENT to pass. Gather up that quarter, run down to the street, wave crazily, place that order and sit under the tree and enjoy that great treat!
Now, if my GRANDFATHER were here today, I would say to him, “You know, PAW-PAW, if there was a WINE TRUCK ENTRAPMENT passing by my house in the evening, I could recapture that magical moment—ONLY ADULT STYLE! I think that would make him CHUCKLE!

Tomorrow is my baby girl’s BIRTHDAY! Oh, CHARLOTTE, what a delight you have been for your dad and me! Hoping your day is so blessed with much love, hugs and kisses! So proud of you! Thank you for having three of the most amazing children, that we can be so proud of! Good job on picking the best husband, father and son-in-law! Have a most spectacular BIRTHDAY!

Then on July 25th, there is another CELEBRATION TO ACKNOWLEDGE! My son, CRAIG married his beautiful wife, NICOLE! My, my, seems like yesterday! What a treasure they both are in our lives. Those 4 beautiful granddaughters are always like the icing on the cake.
