Ingredients
  • 10 T. butter
  • ¾ c. cocoa powder
  • 1 ¼ c. sugar
  • ½ t. salt
  • 2 t. vanilla
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ c. flour
  • 1 pkg. Oreos (regular or double stuffed)
  • 1 c. butter, room temp
  • ½ c. brown sugar
  • 1 ½ c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 ½ c. flour
  • 2 ½ t. vanilla
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1 t. baking soda
  • 1 t. baking powder
  • 2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven 350.
  2. BROWNIE LAYER: In medium saucepan, melt 10 T. butter. Add ¾ c. cocoa powder and 1 ¼ c. sugar. Whisk to combine and remove from heat. Add ½ t. salt, 2 t. vanilla and 2 eggs and whisk until fully combined. Mix in ½ c. flour. Set batter aside.
  3. COOKIE DOUGH LAYER: With electric mixer, cream together 1 c. butter, brown sugar and regular sugar. Add 2 eggs and 2½ t. vanilla, making sure to scrape down sides of mixing bowl. Add flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder. Mix on low until fully incorporated. Fold in chocolate chips. Set dough aside.
  4. Line bottom of 9x9” baking pan with foil and spry with PAM.
  5. Layer ½ of cookie dough on bottom of pan, pressing down to form the bottom layer.
  6. Reserve the remaining cookie dough to be sued to make cookies the next day.
  7. Layer as many Oreos that will fit over the top of cookie dough. Don’t overlap.
  8. Pour the brownie batter on top of the Oreo layer and spread evenly on top.
  9. Bake 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
  10. Let brownies cool before serving. Serve with ice cream.
