HUNTING SEASON ENHANCES MY COOKING SEASON!
Good Morning Foodies!
If some of you live in this area and/or have a significant other that loves to hunt, here is your time to do lots of ahead planning, baking, cooking and freezing for the holidays.
I am not so wild about my house looking like CABELA’S after a CLEARANCE SALE, but I do like the time it gives me to bake my 100 plus PUMPKIN BREADS; make my PRALINES AND PEANUT BUTTER BALLS AND FRUITCAKE COOKIES; prepare and freeze my WINTER SOUPS/STEWS/BISQUES!
I like my time alone in the kitchen as much as I love my HUBBY’S BAKED DUCK, ETC. It is a give and take situation. Of course, with the great PANDEMIC, wondering if I will even have family and friend gatherings to enjoy the holiday bounties.
We all know the saying: “THE ROOSTER MAY CROW LOUDLY BUT IT IS THE HEN THAT DELIVERS THE GOODS!” HUBBY would say to me, “DON’T CRY AND COMPLAIN”! My response is, “REAL WOMEN DON’T CRY THEY “WINE”!
There are still crazy things happening in this 2020 Bummer of a Year! The LSU vs FLORIDA game has been scratched, FLORIDA has about 22 players with the virus. The two teams of VANDY AND MISSOURI have team members with the virus, which LSU just played. COACH SABAN and the ALABAMA ATHLETIC DIRECTOR have the virus. It seems like it is going to hit all teams at some point and time. The NEW ORLEANS SAINTS are trying to play some of their home games in TIGER STADIUM, so that fans can attend! I almost feel like FOOTBALL SEASON IS A WASH!
Still trying to recover from the HURRICANE DELTA! I know I did not have the damage like the worst areas that got hit but just like everyone else—what else can “2020” bring into our lives to be so disruptive!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Want to give a yell out to all those people working out there to restore some normalcy to the world every day! You are greatly appreciated!
As one of my dear old aunts would say when things are going south, “I DON’T HAVE THE TIME OR ENOUGH CRAYONS TO EXPLAIN THIS TO YOU!”
Have a safe and productive weekend!
