GARDEN DELIGHTS!

Good Morning Foodies! I hope you all had a most wonderful FOURTH OF JULY! Can you believe how fantastic the weather was for this holiday! We could not believe we actually sat by a fire in the month of JULY! It was truly a most gorgeous weekend! I was worried the rain would get in the way of my little sparklers that I like to light up for those holidays! We entertained our old college buddies that live out of town. We all pitch in and have some of the most fantastic menus for the three days! Love being with them as often as we can. We all know that as our families grow, as do our commitments to other things, we don’t get to see each other that often. We really try to keep that connection because we have been together for over 40 years. NOW THAT IS TRUE FRIENDSHIP!
With this warm weather and rainy days, my garden is busting all over the place. So today, I thought I would just post some wonderful salads and great dressings. When you stop and think about it, there are MILLIONS OF WAYS TO HAVE A SALAD—they can be SWEET, SAVORY, WARM, COLD, HOT—THE LISTS GOES ON! I know it is very easy to pop open a bottle of store-bought salad dressings, but it really takes no time, to make them fresh. I like to make dressings and try to limit those preservatives, added sugars and those unknown ingredients that you can’t even pronounce. YOUR SALADS AND DRESSINGS ARE ONLY LIMITED BY YOUR IMAGINATION. Try adding new and different herbs, flavored infused olive oils and vinegars, then just bring on different lettuces, veggies, fruits, nuts, etc. The great things about salads, they can be a side dish, snack or a whole main meal. I hope you enjoy some of the ones I have created over the years. I did not post recipes for the salads but just for the dressings. I think you can see from the salad pictures what the ingredients are! I apologize if the pictures didn’t quite match the dressing recipe. I think they are ok but the computer kept putting the pics it liked best, I guess. Anyway, I think you can figure out which pics go with the recipes. Have a great day!
