Frenchy Onion Burgers
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground lean beef
- ½ c. finely chopped onion
- 1 T. minced garlic
- Salt, black pepper, garlic powder
- 1 (10 ½-oz.) condensed French Onion Soup
- 4 slices of good Swiss Cheese
- 4 round hard rolls or burger buns, split
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomatoes
Instructions
- Mix the beef with onion, garlic and season.
- Shape into 4 (1/2”) thick burgers.
- Heat 10-12” non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Add burgers and cook until well browned on both sides.
- Remove burgers from skillet and pour off any fat.
- Stir soup into skillet and heat to a boil.
- Return burgers to skillet. Reduce heat to low.
- Cover and cook for another 5-8 minutes depending on how well you want it done.
- Top burgers with cheese and cook until cheese melts.
- Serve on the rolls which have been dressed with lettuce and tomatoes.
- Pour some of the onion/soup mixture on top of burger and then place top of roll on it.
