DUCK, DUCK, DUCK—BEADS ABOUND!

Good Morning Foodies!
I am so lucky that I grew up in the New Orleans area and got to experience Mardi Gras when life was much more simple and less scary. I can remember my friends just walking the streets of New Orleans, while our parents hung out at the DEAF CLUB. It was pretty amazing that you didn’t fear for your life or worry that someone was going to abduct you. LIFE WAS GRAND!

I always try to stress to my children how important it is to have great friends these days. You need all the help you can get raising kids and having someone watch your back. You know the saying, “GOOD FRIENDS ARE LIKE THE STARS, YOU DON’T ALWAYS SEE THEM BUT YOU KNOW THEY ARE ALWAYS THERE!”

The one thing I do know as I age that is still true, but the one difference is this, “THERE IS NO GREATER BLESSING THAN A GOOD FRIEND, EXCEPT A GOOD FRIEND WHO GROWS TO BE AN OLD FRIEND!”

My Godmother use to tell me, “FRIENDS ARE ANGELS WHO LIFT US TO OUR FEET WHEN OUR WINGS FORGET TO FLY!”
Okay Foodies—those of you who can get into the FAT TUESDAY FESTIVTIES—GEAUX GET IT. Don’t just sit back and say, “IT IS WHAT IT IS—that might be true, BUT IT WILL BECOME WHAT YOU MAKE IT!”

MARDI GRAS IS OUR HERITAGE, OUR CULTURE AND OUR TRADITION—-PASS IT ALONG!

Remember GOOD TIMES are even better when shared with FAMILY AND FRIENDS! Who knows you might meet and make new friends!
MARDI GRAS is the LOVE of LIFE. It is the HARMONIC CONVERGENCE of our FOOD, our MUSIC, our CREATIVITY, our ECCENTRICITY, our NEIGHBORHOODS, and our JOY of LIVING. ALL AT ONCE!

BY THE WAY, LENT IS ALSO ON THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

LAISSEZ LES BONS TEMPS ROULER—–LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!

Whatever you choose to do, stay safe!
