D-DAY!!!!!!!

Fly those colors!
Fly those colors!

Good Morning Foodies! This coming Saturday, June 6 is known as D-DAY! With the past holiday of MEMORIAL DAY, D-DAY and upcoming FLAG DAY—we as AMERICANS can really show our PATRIOTISM, BY FLYING THOSE FLAGS!

D-DAY is the World War II military operation with the code name “OPERATION NEPTUNE”, presumably because it involved a water landing by the ALLIES on the BEACHES OF NORMANDY, FRANCE. It is the largest military operation by sea in history and it had great significance to the war. The invasion of NORMANDY BEACH was a turning point in the war, shortening the war and giving the ALLIES momentum on the continent of Europe. The images of troops landing on the beaches are now iconic. They symbolize a superior cause and the ability to do the impossible, this is what makes D-DAY significant.

I had the privilege of seeing NORMANDY! It is the most amazing and sacred ground I have ever seen. It literally takes your breath away. The moment you enter the area that is flooded with the white crosses, SILENCE takes over. Everyone just walks around and reads the tombstones. The most shocking thing is when you look at the ages of these brave soldiers. Most of them were 18-21 years old. If you ever get a chance to visit this amazing place, do so. It is TIME STANDING STILL!!!!

Once again, take time in your day to pay homage to these brave soldiers who provided us with our freedoms!

Good Luck to My Tigers and ULL!

Have a safe and productive weekend!
