BBQ Chicken Sliders
Ingredients
- 12 dinner rolls (in a package where they are all connected in one big square)*
- 3 c. cooked chicken, shredded
- ⅓-1/2 c. favorite BBQ sauce
- ½ red onion, thinly sliced
- 6 slices pepper jack cheese
- ¼ c. chopped fresh parsley
- Melted butter
Instructions
- With a serrated knife, slice through the bread, having a top and bottom. Place the bottom half in a baking dish.
- Place the top half on the side, for later.
- Combine the chicken with BBQ sauce and place on the bread on bottom of baking dish.
- Place the sliced onion on top of chicken.
- Then top with cheese and then parsley.
- Put the top half of bread rolls on top of the mixture.
- Brush the top with melted butter.
- Bake 350 oven for 20 minutes.
- Remove from oven and cut into 12 sliders.
Notes
*****I used The Original King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls-Savory Flavored. These rolls are a little smaller than regular rolls so you might have to adjust the layering ingredients.
Shredded chicken holds up better than chopped chicken. I found the chopped chicken became mushy. Also add just enough sauce to give flavor. Do not put too much sauce-this also makes them mushy.
