BIG-VARIETY WEEKEND COMING UP!!!

Good Morning Foodies!

I am thinking if you have not made dinner reservations by now for VALENTINE’S—YOU MIGHT BE DRIVING THROUGH SONIC!
I have many friends in the RESTAURANT AND FLOWER BUSINESS—no disrespect, but that is the one day, I do not like to go out to dinner and not wild about getting a dozen red roses.

I ALWAYS SAY, THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX, BE ORIGINAL, PUT SOME THOUGHT INTO WHAT YOU ARE DOING FOR THE ONES YOU LOVE! I do love going out to dinner and I do love getting flowers but just not that day!

Sometimes, it is just kind words, a nice hug and kiss, sharing a glass of champagne, going for a walk, visiting family and friends, that can make you remember that VALENTINE’S DAY!

One of the most wonderful words I ever saw written went like this-“IT’S BEEN AN UGLY DAY FOR ME! PLEASE TELL ME SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL!” SHE SAID. AND HE SAID HER NAME! I just love that!

I hope that each and every one of you have someone special in your life to share this day with. Just remember no one is PERFECT! Everyone comes with BAGGAGE. You are lucky if you find someone who LOVES you enough to help you unpack that BAGGAGE.

As my GRANDMOTHER would say, “DON’T FALL IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE WHO SAYS THE RIGHT THINGS. FALL IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE WHO DOES THE RIGHT THINGS!” VERY WISE WOMAN!

My gift to my HUBBY for VALENTINE’S DAY IS THIS—“BEING SOMEONE’S FIRST LOVE MAY BE GREAT, BUT TO BE THEIR LAST IS BEYOND PERFECT!” That beats any fancy dinner and flowers!

This will be a busy weekend-ANDRE BOCELLI, SUPER BOWL and then VALENTINE’S on Tuesday. Then wham-bam, the following week is MARDI GRAS, ASH WEDNESDAY AND LENT!

Therefore, KITCHEN WILL BE CLOSED FROM MONDAY, FEBRAURY 13 THROUGH TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 21ST. Will be back on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 22-ASH WEDNESDAY AND BEGINNING OF LENT!

When I return on FEBRUARY 22, we will begin with the lovely meals for LENT leading up to the next big holiday, EASTER! Let us not forget that between now and EASTER we have ST. PADDY’S, ST. JOSEPH’S ALTAR and do I dare say, DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME IS ON THE HORIZON!

BY THE WAY, DON’T FORGET FEBRUARY 15TH—-ALL THE VALENTINE CHOCOLATE IS 75% OFF! HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In closing, I want to give a shout-out to all MY FOODIES! SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12TH is the “11TH” ANNIVERSARY of the GEAUXASKALICE SITE. I cannot begin to tell all of you how much I appreciate your support. I get so much pleasure getting up in the morning and posting my ideas, pictures, menus, recipes and some of my silliness. I never in all my days thought this would have grown to this level. I hope I can continue to inspire you all to embrace food, family and friends! THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART FOR ALL YOUR INSPIRATION! MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
