THE BEST CHRISTMAS GIFTS!

Good Morning Foodies!

First thing, I am hoping all you FOODIES faired well from the crazy weather these past days!
One week from Saturday is CHRISTMAS EVE! In my family, they all like to be at their homes on CHRISTMAS EVE so that the GRAND PEEPS can wake up and see what OLD SAINT NICK has left for them under the trees.

For several years now, we all gather the SATURDAY before CHRISTMAS and have our family gathering. It is quite nice.
They all come in; SANTA shows up; we have a FEAST; they spend the night and then the next day—after a big breakfast they head home. It is really nice! I cherish any time I can get with them.
That is why I can honestly say, “THE BEST CHRISTMAS GIFTS ARE MEMORIES!” I always try to express the message of “EAT TOGETHER; LIVE THANKFULLY AND GATHER OFTEN!”

As my grandmother use to say, “It’s not the HOME that I LOVE but the LIFE that is LIVED here!”

I often give myself a guide to judge my day by.
Each night, I say to myself:
-Did I plant hope today in a hopeless heart?
-Was someone’s burden lighter because I did my part?
-Did I cause a laugh that chased some tears away?
-Then I know that if tonight that my name was said when someone knelt to pray—then my day has been spent well!
The other day I read an article that had a story about A PARENT’S PRAYER! I felt it pretty much summed up what we all want for our CHILDREN AND GENERATIONS TO FOLLOW!
SMILE WHEN SADNESS INTRUDES!
LOOK FOR RAINBOWS TO FOLLOW THE CLOUDS!
HAVE LAUGHTER ALWAYS KISS YOUR LIPS!
SEEK SUNSETS TO WARM YOUR HEART!
HAVE HUGS WHEN SPIRITS SAG!
ALWAYS HAVE BEAUTY FOR YOUR EYES TO SEE!
FRIENDSHIPS TO BRIGHTEN YOUR BEING!
FAITH SO THAT YOU CAN BELIEVE!
COURAGE TO KNOW YOURSELF!
CONFIDENCE FOR WHEN YOU DOUBT!
PATIENCE TO ACCEPT THE TRUTH!
LOVE TO COMPLETE YOUR LIFE!

I think we can all use that prayer!

I thought about posting next week but I figured everyone is busy and really doesn’t have time to read a blog. I will not post again until Tuesday, December 27th—just in time to give you some tips for the NEW YEAR!
