BIG WEEKEND!
If you are looking for something to do this weekend, trust me there are plenty of options out there. This will be the closing weekend of the NEW ORLEANS JAZZ FEST! If you are into horses, this is the time to check out the KENTUCKY DERBY-RUNNING OF THE ROSES! Also a chance to wear the most outrageous hats! While cheering on your most favorite activity, have that little MARGUERITA—CINCO DE MAYO, also right around the corner! For you locals, there is the BREAUX BRIDGE CRAWFISH FESTIVAL and the SUNSET HERB FEST going on this weekend! Hope the weather continues to be beautiful for all these upcoming events!
I am still in slow recovery mode from the ITALY TRIP! I cannot believe for the 12 days we were there that we had the most perfect weather! What a blessing!
For me the change that I have seen in my travels to Italy, are the large number of crowds. I remember my first trip to Italy and approaching the Vatican. Walked right up the stairs and went right in and did my sight-seeing. It was totally amazing. Today, thanks to all the TERRORISTS’ THREATS—that has greatly affected touring. The lines are extremely long to go through security, then there are large student groups along with foreign country tour groups. You can spend hours waiting in line. The worst part in churches is the lack of respect in these beautiful places. This is when I wish I could turn back time—to days of innocence and peace!
I guess the one thing I learned from my travels is to be PATIENT! I always try to remember that, “A SMILE IS THE PRETTIEST THING YOU CAN WEAR”! Being kind, polite and considerate will open more doors than you can ever imagine!
We have a big family celebration this coming weekend, so therefore KITCHEN will be CLOSED on Monday, May 8th! Will be back on TUESDAY, May 9th!
