BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION SUMMARY!

Good Morning Foodies! Before I give the GRAND PEEP BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION SUMMARY, I would like to give a heads up to the firm of MORROW, MORROW, RYAN AND BASSETT for initiating a new program for St. Landry and Evangeline Parishes. They have set up 6 scholarships to be given annually to any students, graduating from high school and continuing on with their education, in these two parishes. With the help of Opelousas General Hospital, there was a criteria set up by both organizations to make the selection of the most worthy students. HUBBY, PATRICK C. MORROW, SR., told the gathering that the main purpose of this program was to encourage the youth of these areas to hopefully come back and service their home communities. I like to think of this as one of those, “PAY IT FORWARD” type of deals. The six recipients were presented their checks on Tuesday. I must say a very impressive group. The firm is hoping to continue this program to encourage the youth of our areas to get a great quality education to better help serve the communities. I was very proud of the MORROW, MORROW, RYAN AND BASSETT firm. Great job in motivating this next generation. If you know of anyone in the upcoming years, have them put their names in for the chance to get these scholarships. This past weekend we got together as a family to celebrate Sweet Sophia’s Second Birthday. I am sure to her it was nothing more than going into a sugar coma, popping balloons, tearing open the pretty paper and walking around in a daze. For me, it was the whole idea of my family being together. I find as I age, hopefully wiser, I tend to appreciate these moments. We all know that young families today have so much going on in their lives that get-togethers sometimes get pushed to the end of the list. It is very important to remember that “CHILDREN ARE NOT A DISTRACTION FROM MORE IMPORTANT WORK. THEY ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT WORK”! I know my children think I spoil my GRAND PEEPS—I just like to think I am very ACCOMODATING!
One of the best descriptions of FAMILY that I have seen is this: “FAMILY IS LIKE BRANCHES ON A TREE, WE ALL GROW IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS YET OUR ROOTS REMAIN AS ONE!”
As we all know, LIFE happens and things can shake that FAMILY TREE but it is up to all involved to stay grounded and at the same time lean on each other when needed.
My hope for each of you out there is that you have someone to be there for you. Maybe this is a good time to contact that person who is important to you but for some reason is distant at the moment.
Have a safe and productive weekend!
