YAM IT UP!
Good Morning Foodies!
I am hoping to get my winter supply of YAMS in real soon. I must say the ones in the store have been pretty good but nothing is better than that fresh case sitting under my carport every year! Just love, love, love YAMS. If any of you FOODIES out there have a great and unique recipe for YAMS—SHARE IT! Always looking for new ways to use that gem!
I must say I miss the old days of the YAMBILEE FESTIVAL that was held at this time of year in OPELOUSAS, LA.
Not sure what happened to this great FAMILY ADVENTURE! I can always remember the PEEPS trying to find a weird shaped YAM to enter in the contest to see who could make some fantastic creature or new design of the twisted and unique YAM. Such creative minds in action!
I once heard someone say, it is not good to hold on to many memories from the past. I am thinking that person must unfortunately did not experience a fulfilling life in the past. Nothing gives me more delight than to reflect on the past. For me having memories, makes me want to create more memories. I want my PEEPS and GRAND PEEPS to hold on to cherished family memories and traditions and make their own to pass on to future generations! Granted not all memories are all HAPPY-GO LUCKY-but this is when you try to take the not so good memories and surround it with something that was good at that time. I find that lessens the pain.
Remember the old saying, “ALL IT TAKES IS ONE SONG TO BRING BACK A THOUSAND MEMORIES”!
Whatever you do today—always try to think that maybe down the line, it is a fond memory for someone other than yourself!
My great memory today, is the birth of my first daughter, CELESTE. I want to wish you such a joyful and fulfilling BIRTHDAY! You bring a fulfillment into my heart that you will never know how big it is! Have a most wonderful day with your fabulous husband, JOE and those two precious DAUGHTERS—SOPHIA AND GABRIELLE! These two GRAND PEEPS have captured the best of you!
Have a great day!
