Good Morning Foodies!

Today’s menu had that veggie, “KALE” in it. I read an article last week in one of the food sections of the paper, that one CHEF said he was done with “KALE”! I can see where he is going with this. Yes, when KALE hit the market—it was the hottest veggie out there. I am seeing a lot of CAULIFLOWER taking its place right about now. It really doesn’t matter to me because I love most VEGGIES and I like the challenge of finding new ways to incorporate them into my menus!

The other day I was visiting with PAUL AYO, owner of E’s KITCHEN in Lafayette, LA. He has a new and larger location and is quite lovely. I could spend a day in one of those shops. Anyway, we were discussing upcoming GADGETS. Paul is going to feature items that go right along with the season of outside grilling and cooking. He has some great ideas. Today’s GADGET is the OXO “50” BLADE MEAT TENDERIZER. This gadget is easy to use, improves the taste and tenderness of all meats.
The sharp, durable blades create pockets to reduce marinating and cooking time, allowing meat to retain its natural juices and promoting uniform cooking. The recessed toggle lock keeps blades covered for safe, compact storage and won’t unlock on its own.
